PATIENTS WITH SPECIAL & UNIQUE NEEDS

At Village Green Family Dentistry, we want all patients to feel comfortable about their dental care, regardless of their physical or emotional circumstances. We have great experience in dealing with patients with physical challenges and limitations, as well as those with a history of poor dental experiences that require special care to resolve.

Some of our services to assist these patients include:

  • Nitrous Oxide - Nitrous oxide or laughing gas is best suited for cases of mild to moderate anxiety, and is the most frequently used sedation method. Under nitrous oxide you remain conscious and able to breathe on your own, with a sense of total well-being and quick recovery. Our nitrous oxide sedation is localized in every patient room, rather than on a portable cart, providing patients with the best quality sedation experience available.
  • Oral Sedation for Anxiety - Oral sedation dentistry is a medical procedure involving the administration of oral sedative drugs to facilitate a dental procedure and reduce patients fear and anxiety related to the experience.
  • Special Needs Dentistry for Wheelchair-bound Patients and also those with Debilitating Diseases - Village Green Family Dentistry is committed to providing highly personalized care to families and individuals of all ages, including those with special needs. Dr. Levine and her team truly believe all patients should feel comfortable enough to achieve the smile and oral care they desire and deserve. Patients who suffer from Parkinson's and other motor/nervous system diseases should never feel that they shake too much to receive treatment. Patients with cerebral palsy will be treated so that they do not feel as if the water spray is drowning them, and parents of children with Downs Syndrome, Autism and other developmental delays can have the attention and care needed to make their child comfortable with the process. Patients in wheelchairs or who are unable to transfer to the dental chair can be accommodated to ensure that their oral health will not be ignored.

At Village Green Family Dentistry, our experience in dealing with special needs patients with these and other issues has helped us develop treatment methods to ensure that everyone who comes to office can feel completely at ease and receive the best oral care available.
